The Power
of Mentors

MC2UCLA offers a powerful tool to Moorpark College students through our mentorship program. Students get access to support from current UCLA students and alumni, many who were transfer students themselves. Mentors share their experience to prepare community college students for their future at a UC institution. Our program helps Moorpark College students develop study habits, connect students to helpful resources, and support their on their UC application.

About

ABOUT

Connecting Moorpark Students to the UCs

MC2UCLA was started by a Moorpark College alumni who wanted to make transitioning to UCLA more seamless than what he experienced. Inspired by his own experience, he started MC2UCLA to connect community college students to resources that would support a successful transition to a UC. MC2UCLA's goal is to provide personal guidance by UCLA students to Moorpark College Honors students to help ensure students transfer hitting the ground running.

Today, MC2UCLA is run by a team of UCLA student volunteers who want to support the Moorpark College community. MC2UCLA is open to any Moorpark College student who wants to attend a UC. While we highly encourage our mentees to join the Moorpark College Honors Program, membership is not required.

Our Mentors

Our mentors are current UCLA students or alumni who are dedicated to supporting community college students on their transfer journey. Coming from diverse academic experiences and backgrounds, our team is here to support you.

TESTIMONIALS

"I'm a first generation college student and I have no one to talk to about school, applications, and higher education. I felt like it would be impossible to go to my goal schools, but after the first meeting with my mentor, I was so empowered and confident leaving the meeting. Without MC2UCLA's help, I wouldn't have even bothered to consider UCLA as an educational option or have nearly as strong PIQS as I did."
